New international trailer for ‘The Amazing Spiderman’

When it comes to superhero films in 2012, if you look under a pile of promotion for ‘The Avengers’ and then dig deeper until you hit ‘Dark Knight Rises’, you’ll find ‘The Amazing Spiderman’ underneath.

A new international trailer for ‘The Amazing Spiderman’ has appeared online via Collider with a tiny bit of new footage.

Hit the jump to check out the international trailer.

The reboot of the superhero franchise has tough tight wearing competition, but director Marc Webb looks to have put together and edgier Spiderman film that’s a bit more loyal to the source material.

The appearance of Gwen Stacey as a serious love interest (‘Spiderman 3’ is void) and the backstory of Peter Parker’s parents are going to be the biggest strengths in the reboot because both stories are unknown to non-comic book reading audiences.

The tagline, ‘The untold story’ is the perfect place for Webb to position the film to fans that are already complaining that it’s too soon to be rebooting the franchise.

Based on the trailers the origin of the character may be familiar to Sam Raimi’s Spiderman films, but we love how the storylines seem to be intricately linked, particular how Parker is connected to the film’s villain via the backstory of his parents.

Don’t dismiss ‘The Amazing Spiderman’, yes it’s a reboot but we’re getting a new story and no doubt Sony will be laying the foundations for a wider Spiderman universe to replicate what Marvel Studios has done with ‘The Avengers’.

Every studio with a superhero property wants their own version of ‘The Avengers’ and we wouldn’t be surprised is ‘The Amazing Spiderman’ is full of references and story points to the world of Spiderman, and we’ve already heard mumblings of a Spiderman villain spin-off film ‘Venom’.

Synopsis:
