Dust off your jazz flute – ‘Anchorman 2’ announced
After years of rumours and an open denial from Will Ferrell, today, Paramount Pictures have given ‘Anchorman 2’ the thumbs up.
The announcement was made by Ferrell in character as Ron Burgandy on the TBS talk show ‘Conan’.
According to the Twitter account of Variety reporter Jeff Sneider several of the cast of the first film are set to officially return including Steve Carrell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner.
The film is being produced by Judd Apatow and most of the cast must be taking huge pay cuts to make the film considering that most of them are now big players compared to when ‘Anchorman’ was first released in 2004.
UPDATE
Adam McKay has confirmed he will direct ‘Anchorman 2’ via his Twitter account and that the script is currently being written with shooting starting in February 2013.
Stoners and serial movie quoters should rejoice at this news.

I seem to be one of the few people on the planet that thinks Anchorman was absolute nonsense. I didn’t like it at all. I like the character of Ron Burgandy but the humour just didn’t cut it for me. I prefer the my humour in the form of The Big Lebowski.
