Scorsese & DiCaprio team up for ‘The Wolf of Wall Street

Deadline is reporting that director Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio will work together on adapting the memoir ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’.

The film is based on the Jordan Belfort memoir of his days as a hard partying, drug addicted stockbroker who was indicted in 1998 for security fraud and money laundering and served a 22-month federal prison stretch.

Shooting will begin August in New York working off a script from ‘Broadwalk Empire’ creator Terence Winter.

The film will mark the fifth time Scorsese and DiCaprio have worked together. The material sounds perfect for the duo and hopefully DiCaprio goes into the film relaxed and not in Oscar baiting mode.

Despite a strong performance in ‘J.Edgar’, DiCaprio’s intentions are clear (but he’ll never admit it).

It’s a pretty easy formula to follow:

DiCaprio + ‘Inception’ – Oscar baiting = awesome

DiCaprio + ‘J.Edgar’ + Oscar baiting = average
