New images from ‘Cogan’s Trade’
New images from ‘Cogan’s Trade’ have appeared online – the big gangster film with a high profile cast and no release date.
The film stars Brad Pitt playing a mob enforcer who must investigate the robbery of a high stakes poker game.
It’s directed by New Zealand-born Australian director Andrew Dominik who is familiar with the underworld having directed the excellent ‘Chopper’, and worked with Pitt on ‘The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford’.
The supporting cast is a familiar bunch of wise guys that includes James Gandolfini, Ray Liotta and Ben Mendelsohn, while Richard Jenkins, Scott McNairy and Bella Heathcote will be getting in touch with their dark side.

‘Cogan’s Trade’ is based on the novel by George V. Higgins and is set to be released in late 2012 by the Weinstein Company.
Images via Collider that has more images from the film.
What a cast. I’m really excited to see this movie.
Though it seems unlikely, one can only hope they’ll treat the Higgins original as a virtual blueprint for a script since his novels are all dialogue anyway. With Yates’ “The Friends of Eddie Coyle”, this film has mighty shoe prints to fill.
I cannot wait for ‘Cogan’s Trade’, it looks brilliant!
With a cast consisting of Pitt, Liotta, and Gandolfini, I will be there front row centre when it gets released!
