Trailer of the week

There is a bit of bias towards the new trailer of the week.

While on holiday in New York I managed to catch the play ‘God of Carnage’ on broadway. Having heard little about it I went along clueless. All I knew was that the cast consisted of James Gandolfini, Hope Davis, Jeff Daniels and Marcia Gay Harden.

To this day, it’s the funniest stage production I’ve ever seen.

‘Carnage’ is the name of the film adaptation and it’s directed by Roman Polanski, which had me slightly worried at first, but the trailer has calmed any nerves I had. The cast is different to the stage production I saw but they have assembled a great cast for the film.

‘Carnage’ tells the story of two sets of parents who decide to have a cordial meeting after their sons are involved in a schoolyard brawl. Stars Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, Christoph Waltz and John C. Reilly.

‘Carnage’ will open the New York Film Festival in September and is released in the US 16 December 2011. It currently does not have an Australian release date.
