Edgar Wright to shoot ‘The World’s End’ in September

10 May

Deadline is reporting that Edgar Wright and Working Title will start production on ‘The World’s End’ in September.

Wright will direct working off a script he co-wrote with Simon Pegg who will also star in the film with Nick Frost.

The film will cap the ‘Blood and Ice Cream’ trilogy established by Wright, Pegg and Frost, that includes the brilliant ‘Shaun of the Dead’ and ‘Hot Fuzz’.

Hit the jump for plot details on ‘The World’s End’.

Official synopsis:

“20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.”

Based on the filming schedule ‘The World’s End’ is aiming for a US spring 2013 release.

It’s great to see Wright working again rather than constantly Tweeting.

Wright will shoot ‘The World’s End’ followed by ‘Night Stalker’ with Johnny Depp and possibly Marvel’s ‘Ant Man’.
