Two new potential directors for ‘Catching Fire’

18 Apr

We heard last week that Lionsgate had a shortlist of directors that they were pursuing to direct ‘Catching Fire’, the sequel to ‘The Hunger Games’.

The list is rumoured to have seven or eight directors listed with David Cronenberg, Alfonso Cuaron and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu allegedly shortlisted.

Today two more names were revealed.

Hit the jump to find out who they are.

The Playlist and Collider are reporting the two newbies to the list are:

Bennett Miller (‘Moneyball’ and ‘Capote’)

Francis Lawrence (‘I Am Legend’, ‘Constantine’ and ‘Water for Elephants’)

Lawrence gets my vote over Bennett because of his work on ‘Constantine’ and ‘Water for Elephants’. He can handle action and emotion, if you haven’t seen either film you’re missing out, especially ‘Water for Elephants’ that’s a beautiful piece of old school Hollywood romance. Lawrence did direct ‘I Am Legend’ but we all make mistakes.

‘Catching Fire’ is released 22 November 2013.
